Still images from the third manifestation of Olsen’s WHEN BREATH LEAVES THE BODY at 400 s Peoria, a performed durational installation that invokes the rise and inevitable collapse of a spiraling 8′ tall, 300+ pound ice and steel tower.
The completed Tower stands 3′ x 3′ at its base, and is encircled by a 20’ diameter boundary marked upon the floor, marking the release zone of the final piece. Olsen was assisted by Juan Baños, documented by Oleksandra Chuprina and witnessed by Jacob Boglio, Asya Dubrovina, Austin McCann, Laleh Motlagh & Honey.
